【Product Overview】
This is a masterpiece sake cup (Sakazuki) created by Sumida Gakuyo II, a renowned master of the unique Kutani Ware technique known as "Saiji" (Micro-calligraphy). The interior features a luxurious genuine gold background adorned with colorful, detailed paintings of the Thirty-Six Immortal Poets (Sanjurokkasen), legendary figures of Japanese waka poetry. The exterior showcases the artist's incredible skill: the poems of these thirty-six poets are written in extremely fine, microscopic brushstrokes that are barely legible to the naked eye, covering the surface with exquisite precision. The artist's mark "Kutani Gakuyo" is written in gold on a red background inside the foot ring. This is a highly collectible piece of art demonstrating "superlative craftsmanship." Includes a wooden box.
