The bowl is decorated in the traditional Sometsuke (blue and white) style, featuring meticulously painted landscapes and various circular "Marumon" motifs on both the interior and exterior. As a "Hira-chawan" (flat tea bowl), its characteristic wide and shallow form is designed to let the tea cool quickly, making it a seasonal favorite for bringing a sense of coolness to summer tea ceremonies.
