【Product Overview】
This is a Black Raku (Kuro-Raku) tea caddy (Chaire) created by Raku Konyu (1857–1932), the 12th generation Raku Kichizaemon, a prestigious lineage of potters forming part of the "Senke Jisshoku" (The Ten Craftsmen of the House of Sen). Hand-molded without the use of a potter's wheel (Tezukune), it possesses the soft, warm, and organic form characteristic of Raku ware. The piece is coated in a glossy black glaze, contrasting beautifully with the unglazed clay at the base. The artist's seal "Raku" (楽) is stamped on the bottom. The underside of the lid features a luxurious gold leaf finish. It comes with a high-quality Shifuku (silk drawstring pouch) with a vertical striped pattern. Includes the original wooden box (Tomobako) with a label inscribed by the maker.
