This is a set of three antique Imari Somemishiki octagonal bowls, reflecting the refined aesthetic of the late Edo to Meiji periods. The interior of each bowl is richly decorated with vibrant red enamels, shimmering gold accents, and delicate underglaze blue patterns, while the unique octagonal shape adds a sense of structure and elegance to any table setting. The exterior features a more subdued and sophisticated underglaze blue floral design, creating a beautiful contrast between the ornate interior and the serene exterior. These bowls are perfectly sized for use as Mukozuke (side dishes) for serving appetizers or small simmered dishes, making them a superb addition to both daily meals and special occasions.
