【Product Overview】

This is an antique-style ceramic tea bowl (Chawan) made in the "Annan-utsushi" style, which replicates the traditional pottery of Vietnam (Annan) favored by Japanese tea masters. It features the distinctive "Shibori-de" technique, where the blue underglaze (cobalt) is intentionally blurred or diffused, creating a soft, hazy, and poetic aesthetic. The design depicts a stylized Floral Scroll (Hana-karakusa). The entire surface is covered in a beautiful crackle glaze (Kannyu), adding depth and texture that speaks to its age and "Wabi-Sabi" character. Includes a wooden box.

About the condition

This item is an antique/vintage tea ceremony utensil.

The visible crackle pattern (Kannyu) throughout the bowl is a characteristic feature of this style, not damage.
