【Product Overview】

This is a set of 5 Japanese ceramic small plates (Meimei-zara), created by Seizan Kiln in the traditional Oribe Ware style. These plates feature the classic "Ao-Oribe" (Green Oribe) design, characterized by a striking contrast between the vivid deep green glaze and the iron-painted leaf motifs on the white clay body. With a rustic, hand-molded shape and a diameter of approx. 12 cm (4.7 inches), they are perfect for serving Japanese sweets during a tea ceremony, or as side dishes for appetizers and condiments. The potter's mark "Seizan" (清山) is impressed on the bottom. The set comes in a black lacquered wooden box (likely a storage box paired with the items later, known as Awase-bako).
