【Product Overview】

This is a beautiful Gourd-shaped (Hyotan) vase from Kutani Ware (Kutani-yaki), a traditional craft of Ishikawa Prefecture. It features the vivid color palette typical of the "Yoshidaya" style, with motifs of melons (or eggplants) and vines painted in deep purple, green, yellow, and blue enamels against a white background. The gourd shape is considered a symbol of good luck, health, and warding off evil in Japan. With its narrow neck and small mouth (approx. 2 cm), it is perfect for use as a single-flower vase (Ichirin-zashi). The bottom bears the traditional square seal mark "Fuku" (Good Fortune).
