【Product Overview】

This is a pair of antique Japanese porcelain sake bottles (Tokkuri) in the vibrant "Aote" (Green Kutani) style, characterized by deep greens, yellows, and purples. The set comes with a wooden box bearing a significant inscription: "Meiji 25 Nen Motome Kore - Ko-Kutani Tokkuri" (Purchased in Meiji 25 [1892], Old Kutani Sake Bottles). This indicates that these pieces were already treasured as "Old Kutani" (Ko-Kutani) over 130 years ago. The bottles feature a graceful shape with panels depicting bold floral designs, likely Iris and Camellia, surrounded by geometric patterns like waves and scales. The bottom bears the traditional "Kakufuku" (Square Fortune) mark, covered in green glaze. Both bottles feature Kintsugi (gold repair) at the neck and rim, a traditional Japanese method of repairing pottery with lacquer and gold, highlighting the object's history and value.

This item is an antique ceramic set.

Please note that both bottles have Kintsugi (gold lacquer) repairs at the mouth and neck.
