This is an exquisite Matcha tea bowl crafted by Hosai Fujitani of the Minazuki Kiln, located in Takagamine, Kyoto. The kiln was notably named by Master Tachibana Daigyu of Daitokuji Nyoi-an, reflecting its distinguished lineage in the world of tea ceramics. This piece features a bold "Shiro-irigake" technique, where white glaze is artfully dripped over the surface, providing a striking background for the "Fukiyose" pattern. This traditional design depicts a collection of wind-blown autumn elements, including vibrant maple leaves, golden ginkgo leaves, and pine cones, all accented with elegant gold leaf. It perfectly captures the poetic and fleeting atmosphere of late autumn. This bowl is an ideal choice for adding seasonal beauty to a tea ceremony or as a sophisticated addition to any ceramic collection. Please note that the tea whisk and other accessories shown in the photos are not included.
