This is a Mizusashi (water jar) crafted by Hikoshiro Nishio, showcasing the traditional strength and rustic elegance of Iga ware. It features the distinctive rough clay texture of Iga-yaki, decorated with rich expressions of scorch marks and natural ash glaze (vidro glaze) formed during the intense firing process. The "ears" (handles) on both sides evoke the classic aesthetic of ancient Iga pottery, deepening the profound sense of Wabi-sabi. As an essential vessel for holding water in the tea ceremony, its dignified and heavy presence brings a sophisticated atmosphere to the tea room. The artist's signature is engraved on the bottom, attesting to its quality and origin.
