【Product Overview】
This is a charming ceramic statue of Hotei (the Laughing Buddha), one of Japan's Seven Lucky Gods, believed to be Etchu Kofu Ware from Toyama Prefecture. Hotei is depicted with a joyous expression, holding a War Fan (Gunbai) in his right hand and his signature large sack in his left. The Gunbai symbolizes authority, warding off evil, and leading to victory or good fortune. The figure is coated in a rich amber/brown glaze that has developed a beautiful patina over time, giving it a dignified antique presence. It is an auspicious ornament believed to bring happiness, prosperity, and success in business. Includes a wooden box inscribed "Kofu-yaki" (古府焼).
