This is a deeply charming antique underglaze blue and white sashimi plate that has been carefully preserved over many years. It features a finely detailed "Mijin Karakusa" (micro-scroll vine) pattern meticulously painted around the rim and sides, surrounding a rustic, simple design at the center that conveys the warmth of traditional Japanese craftsmanship. There are age-related hairline cracks (nyu) that have been beautifully restored with traditional gold repairs, adding a unique character and a sense of history that elevates its antique value. Ideal not only for sashimi but also for serving side dishes, appetizers, or Japanese sweets, this plate will bring an elegant and authentic touch to your dining experience.
